REHEARSED READING, R CREATIVES, ONLINE, SEPTEMBER 2021

"After opening our submissions for R Online Reads of new work, Aine Ryan's wonderful play My Cousin Paddy jumped out at us straight away. We were struck by how beautifully crafted the characters and relationships were. Finding those hidden nuances that run in close family dynamics and without being overwritten. We also respected that she had chosen to touch upon such a challenging subject matter but taking a different perspective. The natural rhythm of the peace and dialogue sings of Ireland. After our online reading, with actors and other industry professionals, we felt the play came to life and was extremely engaging. We truly believe that there is a real future for this script and we wish Aine all the best in finding her path as a dramatic playwright."
