About

“Ryan writes beautifully”The Stage

I am a playwright and performer from Co. Tipperary, Ireland whose work responds primarily to issues of women, contemporary life in rural Ireland, environment and isolation.

I hold a B.A (Honours) in Theatre and Performance from Goldsmiths, University of London and a Higher Diploma in Film and TV Production through the Irish language from Nemeton/Waterford Institute of Technology.

I have gotten multiple five star reviews and award nominations for my work and sold out runs of plays in Ireland, Edinburgh and London. Previous plays have been performed and toured throughout Ireland, the UK and the USA.

I have been awarded several commissions from The Source Arts Centre, Thurles, Co. Tipperary. I am also the recipient of Professional Development, Agility, and Project Award funding from the Arts Council of Ireland and various awards from Tipperary Arts Office. I am super grateful to have the support of these organisations to help with my development as an artist.

I am striving for excellence in my work. My ambition is present storytelling and a theatrical event that lingers in the mind of an audience member long after the performance.
